Dee Schloesser

May 16, 1930-October 11, 2011

Born in Canisteo New York to her parents David & Mayetta Spencer. Dee had one sister Lorene McLean and two brothers Dale and Donald Spencer.

Dee joined the Navy in December of 1951 and served in various clerical departments for the next 3 years until July of 1954. Dee married Leslie Vader in Norfolk Virginia in June of 1954 and their son Michael Vader was born one year later. The little family left Virginia and settled at the naval base in Alameda California where a daughter Karen followed in August of 1958.

When life did work out between Dee & Leslie this strong and independent woman moved herself and her children to Coronado California where she lived for many years and worked Civil Service at Naval Air Station North Island (NAS).

Dee met and married Maurice Schloesser in 1973 and they moved from the San Diego area into the Central Valley of California and finally to Nevada where they settled in Hawthorne, Nevada. Dee worked at the navel base in Fallon Nevada until she retired from Civil Service in 1985.

In 2011 Dee moved for the last time to Yuba City California to be closer to her daughter. Throughout her time in Yuba City Dee was in tremendous good spirit and spent many quality hours doing her crossword puzzles, listening to baseball games, being read to and playing her video poker game with her caregiver Wilma Sheffield.

Dee Schloesser leaves a legacy of admirable children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. A son, Michael Vader of Nevada, daughter, Solana (Karen) Cooper of Yuba City, 5 grandchildren, Bobby Cooper, Brian Cooper, Janna Cooper, Dana & Krystal Vader and 9 great-grandchildren. Dee’s remaining family in New York includes her sister Lorene and brothers Donald & Dale as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Maurice Schloesser. Donations to Sutter North Hospice 400 Plumas Blvd Suite 115, Yuba City, CA 95991 in her name are suggested by the family.

Rest in peace my sweetie.
Love, Daughter
